Since starting the blog, I have wanted to celebrate some of my artist friends & today seems like the perfect day to start.
Bob Harper is a great Scottish artist & all-round great guy. He’s interested in everything & you’re guaranteed of a brilliant chat if you’re lucky enough to get into conversation with him.
Today is Bob’s birthday.
He makes fantastic images of musicians & other icons with some of their words scratched or painted on or around their heads or faces & it has a brilliant effect. He often revisits the same face because Bob is nothing if not an enthusiast. His works are painted with love & they are very special.
This is one of my favourites. It’s done in charcoal & it’s absolutely stunning.
