Trawling Through The Thrift Stores with Joseph Finn

Happy Thursday, everyone!  We're in the doldrums of January but hey, here in Richmond it's in the 50s so I can't complain too much.  I'm feeling much better than last week (thanks for your patience) so let's see what I've found recently.

For a lot of years, I've only known Cowboy Bebop (カウボーイビバップ) by reputation.  And frankly, a lot of that was the absolutely fantastic theme song by Yoko Kanno from when the series ran in 1998 and 1999.  So I was happy to run across this over the weekend, a collection of all 26 episodes of this, even for anime, weirdly stylish show set in the near future that feels like a fun combo of anime, film noir and cyberpunk.

Those are the credits for when Cowboy Bebop aired on Adult Swim in the USA.  The Japanese credits are interestingly different.

Cowboy Bebop is streaming on a ton of places, from Hulu to Netflix to Adult Swim's streaming site.

OK, nothing snappy to say hear but my wife got this for me and come on, this is a great Peter figure.

OK, this is not a thrift store find but I have to highlight that I finally got this back from the framing store.  My friend Gillian made this cross-stitch for me and I almost started crying when I opened at how much I love the look at it.  Look closely; that's all quote from Stephen King novels and short stories, framed by iconic character names.

I took a bunch of pictures so you can see how the words wrap and intertwine and make a beautiful mosaic of sorts.

I decided to have it framed with Carrie White on the top left, because c'mon, she's the icon.

Isn't it just pretty as hell?  I haven't figure out where to hang it just yet because it really does deserve a place of honor.
